Another sail thread...Marblehead fabric.
I took out an endowment mortgage in 1987. It was considered a very good thing, a winner - a bit like new generation anchors and light displacement.
It was not a very good thing. I would have been better off taking a fiscal interest in greyhound racing or the widows of Nigerian bank officials.
All this is bye the bye but as my mortgage matures this year, I would like some advice.
It will just about cover a new suit of sails, as it will be my last, I might break the habit of a lifetime and buy the best.
What sort of mark up would Marblehead fabric be over standard issue? Lets say on the £1000ish main of a 32ft boat?
