Another request for information

[Sniper]

Can anyone recommend a timber supplier in the Ipswich area (although obviously I accept I may need to travel further) I don't need anything too fancy - just a bit of mahogany plank for cockpit benches and transom graving piece. Don't want to use iroko if I can avoid it due to skin sensitivity.

No idea about someone in Ipswich, but Robbins Timber do all sorts of marine grade timber by mail order. A google search should bring them up.

Not that close to Ipswich but Brook Bros in Maldon have a great selection and often have off cuts. Good value if they have pieces that will fit your needs

I use Thorogoods near Colchester, realy good selection of timbers and good service, speak to a guy called Mario if you can, he's sorted me out in the past!

Update - I went down to Thorogoods this morning and found them very helpful.
