In the 70's I sheathed a sailing smack with a two pot material that when on and dry had the 'feel' and texture of a lorry tyre. It was light blue in colour; in adhered to the wood with tenacity and I was told that it had been developed for the lining of grain shutes. I was not adivised to include any reinforcing material, so there was no intention of structural impovement. The flexibility was remarkable It happened that I came across that old boat twenty years later when the sheathing was found to be intact and still flexible.
Has anyone any idea what it might have been. I will immediately recognise the name once my failing memory is jogged.
