my fat knees are a nuisance restricting legroom when sitting up top on our TS37 and impede movement for look sees when berthing. My son suggested amputation but that is a tad drastic so then said how about fitting a smaller diameter wheel like what is at the lower helm. Any suggestions that do not involve surgery to me gratefully received. steering is hydraulic by Vetus I think.

Once you get used to handling the boat, you dont need the wheel to berth, just use the gears and throttles, you can make the boat do what you want, wheel has very little effect :encouragement:

Understood but getting from side to side to see the gap to the dock/whatever and what is going on is impeded by the wheel and the seats even if a) not needing to steer or b) sit. The wheel sits sort of flat on the dash rather than vertically.
