Stayed on boat last night. Woke up this morning to find another casualty of the recent wet weather- Another sunken boat.
I can't understand why people don't check their boats (or arrange for someone to do it for them)
I have been at our boatyard for 2 years, I'm down most weekends all year 'round, and I have never seen anyone on this boat.
So that's 2 submarines this week!

Wish I could get down to mine more often. Only needs a little thing to go wrong. Talking to a mate last night in pub. One sunk in Pwhelli last week.

Thats the beauty of having the boat near home. Mine wont sink it on the trailer. Couldn't get to it this morning though, the cows had come in.

The one that sunk last night was very unloved, as said, never seen anyone on it.
I believe the boatyard had pumped it out a couple of times before.
The cause appeared to be rainwater filling boat up, as the covers have been in tatters for at least 2 years.
The other boat that sank, was (supposedly known by owner) taking on water through a (hole??) in the back, So again, appears to be neglect.

My can't sink either on the Trailer and as its parked on the drive, I can just look out the Kitchen window to see her ....... aaaaaahhhhhh

Bloody hell Col, is this another case of you looking at a boat and it sinking?

Which one was it? there is a right messy wreck next to Thor (which I beleive they are about to cut up) that is sunk on every tide.

Ah yeah, but the heat from the cows in the other half of the shed keep the damp at bay and it stops the engine freezing!

Nah, it's the grey one next to the big MTB type boat ( the one behind your mates Fairey)
Just as you step on the first bit of pontoon, it's the first boat on the left.

The one that went down the other day, was right across on the pontoon on the far side of the river.

That gives me an idea !!! I think I'll run a power lead out from the Garage and put one of those "Frost protector" heaters in the boat.

mmmm - now where can I buy one from ????????

It would be nice to think that for all those marina dues, maybe someone could occasionally keep an eye on the boats - or even the neighbour on the next pontoon.

This happens regularly at Kip and they will telephone owners if they suspect a problem and take direct action where necessary. Likewise a lot of the regulars tend to keep a friendly eye on each other's boats, etc. Maybe the guy whose boat it is is ill or otherwise incapacitated so a little good old fashioned charity does'nt go wrong.

Surely none of these boats sink quickly if unattended. Whats wrong with these marinas?

Thats what I mean, they have so much money nthey can neglect things. The one that has had nobody near it for two years, surely they are paying their moorings? They may of course be very ill or something, so I may be being a little harsh.
