I used to see the Aero-rig in action when I kept a boat on the Hamble some years ago.

Fascinating website - but I'll stick to gaff rig for now (it just love the look).

when i switched from gaff to bermudian rig i was really upset at not being able to hoist the main with the wind aft any more. now i can do that again.

i do miss the days of handling the whole rig without a winch, just a few ash blocks. the satisfaction of a well-set topsail and the look of the tan sails. less nostalgic about wet smelly bilges, drips from the deck over my bunk and buckets of cutch for the annual re-tanning.
