Looking to buy a solar panel. The Sunware 39W one fits the space but costs £400! Does anyone have any advice, experience or helpful comments to pass on? Do we need to buy one from a chandlery, or can one use a "domestic" version and save some cash? Any recommended brands?

Thanks people.

Having discussed the whole issue with the electrician who will be fitting everything, I have decided against the solar panel and have gone for new type alternator regulator. He thinks that this will be more useful given that we have big battery capacity and shore power when in home berth. When I was told that the panel wouldn't even keep upwith chart plotter/radio/fridge when sailing I concluded that I either needed one 3 times bigger (for about £ 700)or else move to the Med!! Shame really because I liked the idea of it!
