I had quick search about this and couldn't see a thread that was relevant to my needs to here's another question.

My fishing boat is an Orkney Orcadian 23 with a 115 yam o/b to power it. On a good day in calm weather she'll do about 18-20 knots mebe 22 flat out but usually we chug along at about 12-15. I'm thinking of fitting one of the sportsboat a/ps that Raymarine offer or similar. Does anybody have any experience of these or views on the matter?

Thanks

Chris

If you mean the type that fits behind the wheel I did use one for a bit on a similar boat (Alaska 600) admitedly mainly used for slow trolling but found it a bit "snakey" but don't know if the later models use rate gyro which should help with that. If not then Raymarine do make a drive for O/Bs that can be used with their rate gyro pilots.
