International say Micron Extra works for 2 years - must the boat atay in the water for this to be the case? Anyway, only put 1 coat on this year - see what happens. Still almost £300 though!

Micron Extra, it is claimed, gives 2 years protection from one application of 3 to 4 coats. Not from just one coat!

I'd assume that since it can be applied 12 months before immersion laying up ashore would be no problem

Read the Product data sheet!

I did put three coats last year - question was whether you need to keep it in the water or not. I'm interested to see if one coat will result in a worse result than the three coats did last year..

I've just taken out a second mortgage and bought two 2.5 l cans of this stuff. I'd be very interested to know how your 3 coats performed? I haven't put it on yet - still have the receipt so can take it back!

No, it doesn't matter if the boat's out of the water for a time (eg over the winter). I use Micron (3-4 coats by brush) and leave the boat in the water for 2 years at a time. It works well.
