I am rigging a light "lunch" anchor. 5kg folding fisherman's from jimmy green with 30m 12mm anchorplait. 24ft boat.

I will fix the 12mm warp in my anchor locker alongside the main anchor (10kg delta on 40m warp and 30m chain) and just want to clip on lunch anchor when I need it. would you think a carabiner ok?

Without knowing more details of the boat and the proposed anchoring area, there seem to be some mismatches between the size of boat and the equipment.

Why a fisherman ? It's a good anchor for craggy sea bed, but better (newer, more effective) designs of a similar weight are available.

Almost certainly you will need some chain between the anchor and the warp. For a lunch hook, something like 5m of 6 or 8mm would be useful as a starter.

12mm anchor plait is a pretty big rope, unless it's what you have available to hand.

Finally carabiners.... The super dooper proof-tested proper ones are way much more expensive that a decent shackle, and generally they are much more subject to corrosion and grit in the locking mechanism than a simple shackle, which is almost as quick as a carabiner. If you want a QD link, then a maillon rapide (Quick link) is a better answer than a crab.

For a lunch hook with this size boat a wire gate climbing carabiner will do the job for ~ $6. Proof tested, 20 kilonewtons MBS. Bear in mind the max load on that anchor is probably <300 pounds in a thunder storm, assuming it doesn't drag, which it will unless hooked on a rock. (24 feet, nylon rode)

Not guessing, used one for many years. However, I would not clip it directly to the anchor. There are too many ways to cross load it in the shank. Instead, add a few feet of chain to the anchor and then clip that.
