Anodes

I still feel like wanting to apologise for the ignorance I display with my questions - Sorry

When you buy a new outboard motor, do they come with a zinc anode attached, or should I be looking to buy one separetly.

They will usually have one fitted, but they are usually small and need frequent replacement or you can fit an additional one. For my money its best to fit an additional one as you can use a standard anode which will be cheaper than using the manufacturers.

Different anodes are needed for fresh/sea water and it may be worth checking before you use it. I think that sea water ones are usually fitted on new engines.
