It is that time but having done a little research this time around I am amazed at the price difference between different makes and suppliers.

I cant imagine there is a great deal to an anode - get the metal composition right and thats about it.

Does this mean that some makes / suppliers are using a cheaper composition or is there something more to it?

I like the sound of Zincsmart for example (with who I have no connection) recommended on here before and they are half the price of MG Duff or even more than that which doesnt entirely make sense? Of course no one seems to say what their anodes are made of.

US Military Specification No 18001K is the standard zinc anode spec. You will find that most manufacturers adhere to these specs and mention it on their websites. The two you mention certainly do.

The important part of the composition is the very low iron content. Too high and they dont work Even the iron content in the Mil spec is possible because some cadmium (?) is included .

Possibly some more detail on Vyv's website
