Depends how long it took to get to that state.

Two years and did need replacing, I might check more often now I found a supplier that sells them at £2 ! better then £18 from Cummins.

Hi Tom,

They look the same as my CMD anodes/holders, there were two on each engine and both had different threads, the CMD anode cost an arm and a leg and had two different ends for each anode holder.

The two pound canada anodes are fine once cut down but may be a different thread, not easy to spot as the zinc cross threads and rips the threads. If you check it after 15 hours you may find one has worked loose, tightening will not work as the thread has already been ripped once.

If they are the same as mine it might be best to 'tap' both holders to the same thread .

I have managed to get both threads from a local dealer !

My engine has four anodes so that makes it eight, only one original one was lose as you say, It is a joy to service an engine when you have all the right oparts and tools.

The longest job is cleaning up after myself.
