Have bought my annual requirement of anodes from here for many years very happily.
John has been great to deal with, a gentleman of the 'old school'

However just recently no reply to the phone or e-mails, most unsettling.
Does anyone know more??

If you are desperate , you can go on Google earth find his his unit the see who is next door and call them and ask about him . Ps it works.

I have just spoken to John about an order and he sounds on good form.

Glad to hear he's OK.
In the meantime i've been forced to get my anodes elsewhere for this year.

The same happened to me earlier this year. John eventually contacted me by which time I had purchased elsewhere. He sounded pretty stressed at that time.

I always phone him.
As you say - he is old school.
I don't think he believes in credit cards.
He will send the anodes out with an invoice and then "trust" you to send him the money.
This year he was very slow and I had to chase him several times.
But he is always "great value" - both the costs of his products and just taking the time to have a chat with him.

John is not contactable by email or telephone again. Does anybody know if he is still trading, or is it a case of keep trying on the phone?

Apparently John is quite ill and although the business is technically still going, it seems unlikely he can fulfil any orders at the moment. Phone calls and emails are unanswered.

Zincsmart now seems to be up and running again according to the website, with a revamped website under construction.

Just been to the website to find that John has passed away.
Such a pleasant gentleman to deal with. RIP

Oh dear - such sad news.
His trading philosophy was one from the past.
Trust the customer - Send the goods - Send an invoice - Expect the customer to pay.

As has been written, John was an old-school gentleman. In addition to his online trading philosophy, which was an almost unique mix of the old and the new, it was always a pleasure to deal with him in person and over the telephone. If he has recently died, that would have made him 92. RIP.

Great shame, he gave me some very good advice in 2018 and supplied me with steel post zinc anodes for my Cat's at a sensible price... worked really well.
