Another idea, from todays veterinary activity.

Lots and lots of posts about replacing anodes, especially while afloat.


So.... why not install an anode in a device like a speed sensor, so that you can withdraw it from time to time, check, and if necessary, replace it.

You might have to 'carry' the sacrificial bit inside a plastic tube to enable motility, but for anodes near the stern which are corroding fast (see PBO passim) replaceable anodes might be a useful idea.

Dont they do something like this on racing boats so that the anodes can be withdrwn , at leat flush with the hull, while racing ?
 
Actually discussed this the morningf with my divers and reckon we can do it, but bear in mind that it will be surface supplied not amateurs.
