Roy, do they have a white crust on them? You may be more protected from fresh and brackish water in the marina but the river on the ebb has a top layer of fresh to it. I noticed some interesting wear on the anodes. The lower down my drive they were the more rapidly they wore away. Partly due to the SS props I am sure but my anodes on my SS trim tabs seemed to be lasting forever as were my transom shield zincs. They had developed a bit of a white crust from being exposed to the fresh water and were effectively neutralised. I have gone full aluminium now.

Well if you are on zincs it may be worth your while to go to aluminium. It's not just for brackish water they are reportedly better all round. Just remember you cannot mix and match. All zinc or all aluminium. The was a mission for me. I had to make / shape my own anodes.

I have kept boats on swinging moorings in the Srait and pontoon moorings in the river Conwy over the Years
Plus the Strait and Felinheli marina etc etc
Roy, if you say the degradation is only 10% and the Vessel is not due come out and be ashore, leave well alone ,If She is coming out or ashore replace them
Conwy in My experiance is Not a bad place regarding 'Cathodic' Electrolysis' or whatever the corect Term is!
Compared to 'other marinas closer
Not Deganwy but another one Locally
Whlist on a Pontoon in the River Bruce and not 'hooked up' as it were, you have different probs to Roy as you know
If She is ashore Roy just change them
If not from what you say don't bother
What you can do for piece of mind
Plus to stop the 'current' anodes (ooh no pun intended|) degrading too fast as to stop the degradation, is to connect another sacrificial anode to the (green and yeller wires Mate) 'earthing' system and dangle it over the side

I was thinking more of using one of the boat davits tbh. You know, like a teabag, I dont think any of my rods could support your weight. Heaviest is 80lbs.

Anyway we digress. Should Roy change his anodes. I disagree having witnessed first hand what the lack thereof can do. Besides if he doesn't lift his boat out to replace we have a diver in our midst. And if he does lift out we will have the the Easter cruise without having to put up with his sour expression every time I pop over to make sure his funboxes are stocked and working.

All twelve of my anodes were replaced, regardless if they needed it or not. And the boat went back in the water this morning. It’s a false economy not to change them as you don’t know if next season’s conditions will be the same as last.

In hindsight I should have had a squiz at your anodes but I was so busy searching the bins for a jimmy bar to get into your funbox I clean forgot. Sorry mate
