Having had loads of help from you chaps about my new prop, I am now being asked whether I want a zinc or aluminium anode on my featherstream. Having never encountered this before, help..????? I assume the answer is zinc but ???

Aluminium is the coming thing and will replace zinc in the future because it is cheaper easier to make and more environmentally friendly. Similar potential to zinc and effective in fresh water. Volvo have already changed all their saildrive and outdrive anodes to aluminium.

I read somewhere that its not recommended to have different types of anode, so either all magnesium for fresh water , all zinc for saltwater or all aluminum for brackish / salt . I may be mistaken, if so ..... incoming!!!
