I have just bought a Corribee 21 Mr III with and outboard on the back and some basic electrics inside..i have noticed that it does not have an anode at all...should i put one on it??

Secondally it currently does not have a forehatch- does anybody have one I could buy or can anybody recommend one that have found that fits and seals?!

Hello yachtie8 Welcome to the forum.I think that most boats without an inboard engine and only basic electrics dont use anodes. My 1980 22footer doesnt have any and has not developed any problems. usually there is a small anode on the outboard motor drive leg .

Re forehatches I would seriously think if you need one. Most forehatches seem to leak in bad weather eventually .

The Forehatch is great for sticking your head out of when sat on the throne, but not really needed other than that. The outboard should have an anode, but I never had one on mine for the 3 years I had one. Enjoy it, but wear wellies in the cockpit - its very wet up there!

An outboard should have an anode which would normally be a part of the outboard itself. The manufacturer would be able to tell you the part number. Without one, you will lose valuable outboard metal!!!

On my corribee, I too have an outboard, and I have an anode. I have connected the sink and cockpit drains to the anode, and there are no other skin fittings.

But can you help me? My MkIII is fitted with slab reefing to the boom, all the fittings are there to connect up, but how??

Have you got slab reefing? if so can you send me a diagram

regards P
