I need to fit a new anode to. Provide a shore power earth route to water.

My question is about fixing the anode moutning stud to the hull.

It'll have a backing nut, and backing plate inside the hull.

On the outside is it only the one nut that clamps the anode on, that also holds the stud in place?

The anodes I've seen so far have no cut out to allow a 'middle' nut to clamp the stud directly to the hull.

What stops the stud falling out when you change the anode, or if the anode just errodes away?

The MG Duff AD56 anodes I used had room for a single nut between it and the hull.

I renewed it many times over 27 years and never had to disturb the stud, or the nuts securing the stud to the hull.
