Anode not eroding

Have he boat out of the water for antifoulinf etc. The anode on the saildrive has erodes and will be replaces. The anode on the hull does ny showa any sign of eroding. Does this mean that it is not operating correctly. If it is not are other components eroding. How can I check that the hull anode is correctly instaled?

The hull anode must be bonded with a good low resistance electrical connection to the items it is intended to protect. It must also be reasonably close to those items and not be shielded from them.

What do you think it is supposed to protect?
What's it connected to internally?
