Its the boat show again and no doubt all the mags will have promo dollys wandering about offering blandishments to people who start a new subscription.

I am a subscriber to 2 IPC mags, what incentive will I get for maintaining my subs?

Nothing,nada zero,diddley squat.

What price loyalty?

i would have sent you my pbo satchel i got about three years ago which after much nagging from swmbo i gave to the charity shop during recent house move having not used it at all and she refused to let me take.
i think our household now has about five IPC subscriptions surely they should be sending me money?

Are you not already getting a discounted price, free mailing, early acces to the mags you are subscribing to?

Either that, unsubscribe and re-join.

Goodness - almost makes me think that it would be worthwhile to travel all the way to London just to subscribe /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now if they were giving away a bottle of malt, like they have, that would be a good incentive! I think my 12 month sub is about £16.00 odd, bottle of malt about, say £20.00 - £28.00? Drink the malt and recycle the second mag! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Awfy expensive bottles of malt your drinking!

Just paid £14 for a bottle of Highland Park 12yo. Very refreshing!

What! That must be at the distillery gate! Or is the additional cost we pay the transport to the other end on the country?

Depends which charts you use .. eg applying the Loch Linnhe Chart whilst navigating in the Solent can add excitement to an otherwise dull dsy.

When I subscribed to IPC mags I only to out a 1 year subscription at SIBS & got a prezzie. Ignored the renewal letters and subscribed again at SIBS & another prezzie.

Now got enough boaty stuff - don't need prezzies - and don't subscribe anymore. There are only so many ways you can prepare for winter lay up (which I don't) or cruise the Solent (which I don't).

Taking your eye off whats going on and looking at a chart in the Solent can add excitement to an otherwise dull day!

I'm similar - when I do subscribe I take out a one year subscription at one of the boatshows, either to an IPC mag or a competitor (never more than one).

This year I will look at the freebies and decide whether it is worth subscribing this year.

If they want to keep their subscriptions up they ought to make sure that renewing an existing subscription is cheaper than taking out a new one!

Could be when you look at the price of petrol up here /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Dumbarton (where I live) is where most of the world's whisky is bottled. Everyone knows someone who gets a staff discount /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Common sense - but then again, I don't think it fits the beancounters' business model
