Annual January Jester dinner - Saturday 1st February, 2014

[Independence]

I’m proposing to pick up the baton and organise the annual Jester meet. I’ve made enquiries for a suitable venue and have a tentative booking. In order to secure the venue I need to confirm potential numbers so please register your interest as soon as possible.

Details and general format are shown below. If you are interested in attending please contact me using the e-mail address below and state how many places you would like to reserve. I’ll then compile a list and communicate to everyone going forward by e-mail.

Venue : Fox’s Marina Yacht Club, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP2 8SA
• 1 hour 20 minutes from London, Liverpool St Station
• 2 miles from Ipswich train station
• Circa 1 hour from London Stansted airport
• Premier Inn Hotel opposite with other local hotels available
• Marina berth available
• Ipswich dock berth available
Format : Club house is open from 9.30a.m
Meet 4pm – 6pm for symposium to discuss routing preferences, weather, safety, boat preparation, etc,.
Meet back in bar 7pm
Dinner 7.30pm

Cost : Circa £15 per head for a 2 course meal

I understand Roger Taylor is giving a talk the same day at around lunch time on how he prepared Ming Ming for ocean sailing. It is being held at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Burnham which is around an hour away from Ipswich.

It could be a good opportunity to attend both events.
