Whilst having a rummage in the local bookshop on Friday I discovered the above book. What a little gem I couldn't put it down, very well written and full of good tips.

Does anyone know if she has written any other books ?where is she now?

She and Trevor are currently in New Zealand about to head to Australia to do some refitting on Iron Bark 2. And yes she is quite a woman!!

If you can find it her later book, Beyond Brazil is also worth reading

Ah but you have ( I am guessing)never sailed without a fridge ?
All I can say is that when I read that book just before victualling for the run across to the carib, food prospects in the galley improved considerably.
Chuck in an absence of electriciery and complicated sails and spars and ,yup,a good book for those who were, like me,sailing before retirement on marginal boats(most of whose owners dont post on here) /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
