Hello,
I have an Angelo Lavranos Holiday 34 / L34 by Robertson (SA) and have a small crack at the base of the mast that requires welding. The welder I have been in contact with needs to know the grade of aluminium used in the mast, and I was hoping someone on this forum may know. If you could message me back it would be much appreciated. Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from someone soon.
Sincerely,
Andrew K. Sweetman

I know nothing whatsoever about your boat or its mast material. More generally, aluminium alloys widely used for yacht and dinghy spares are 6061 and 6082. The latter is stated to be for high quality extrusions, only you can judge if your boat falls into that category.😄

All are alloyed with magnesium and silicon.

T have an Angelo Lavranos L 14 meter and when I ws fitting it out I did have comms with Angelo who had moved to new Zeeland but have lst his details now but may be still found

There are also a number of holiday 34 still n Durban but again I do not have contact details but may be available via one of the clubs in Durban being RNYC, Point YC of Bluff YC who may be able to help.

H34 is a similar design to a L23 or 36 also several located in Durban and at Durban marina

It maybe coincidental but Robertson and Caine build all the Sunsail and Leopard catamarans, so maybe its the same Robertson and R&C might hold records.

Have you contacted R&C - it might merit a phone call.
