Anemometer

When I bought my old dear it still had its original (1974) anemometer and display, not working but apparently functional within living memory. To look at, the cable and connections are fine but as I have no idea how the thing actually works, I was wondering wether anyone could help suggest what and how to test. The display is analogical.

G'day Lucian,

You should be able to pick up the pulse with a multimeter, provided the gear at the top of the mast is still sending / working, if it is, try giving the instrument a good clean, bush on the indicator would be a good place to start.
