just spent a day on stingo's boat
hes seems to have an aversion to taking the boat out in anything other than 15 knots mainly because he has about 30 tupperware boxes of spares that would be spread all over the cabin if he achieves more than 10 degrees of heel. he is suffering from PMT pre maritime tension
we met up in london with his plumber who promptly bought 4 slabs of beer and proceeded to start on them for lunch.
meanwhile stingo proceeded to produce enough spare shite from his cabin to put happy 1 to shame. basically stingo has been bad enough in life that he believes the lord could be cruel enough to make his liferaft fail to inflate , all 30 of his flares faile, the epirb go Kaput and the gmds signal fail.
after a brief sail which involved a huge genoa and no main on account of his other liferaft (an avon) being on deck and inflated we headed back
we did not sail the next day. there was a south westerley gusting 25 knots. stingo merely muttered about having a terrible entrance when he had wind( it is brighton after all and apparently a good entrance is important down there)
to be fair we did have an excellent sail and lots of fun
he is off to cruise the atlantic
cruising seems very popular in brighton as two very kind gentleman pointed out to me later in the evening.
love all
