It should be noted that EA does not accept Anecdotal Evidence. So all of us that for maybe two generations have used Benson stating the shoaling is a recent phenonemon are wasting our breath.
Similarly with Flood areas. It is no good stating that a certain area did not flood in 1947 or before. If the EA's blue felt tip pen thickness covers such an area then it is liable to flooding. Despite anecdotal evidence to the contrary.

EA could ask those that have been Benson lockies - they would know.

That's the whole point, their memories or anyone else's don't count. Alan Hastings was Lock Keeper there for a zillion years and is also a Licenced Waterman but his views would count for naught.

Well that sums up the way the entire country is run, and explains why it's run so badly.

I always hoped the EA would be a reputable organisation, not a bunch of cretins.

I recall a surreal conversation with one of their flood cretins during last July, when I was standing in 2 feet of water in my house for the third day, being told that a severe flood warning had not been issued as no properties had been flooded - and then being argued with when I stated the situation locally!!
Unfortunately the EA have, in every area, gone down the recruit graduate / rely on computer model / deny all else route...

I wonder if there is enough feeling to set up a pressure group and website ?

There are enough skills on the forum to do so, and more than enough local knowledge to provide the ammunition and delivery systems.

www.EAsucks.com is a bit strong though /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
