...and what\'s MISSING from MBM?

Along same lines as XR3i's post, and notwithstanding that the biggest editorial say comes from the advertisers (got to make money to stay afloat!) ...

-- More electronics tests, with current 'top 3' / MBM Recommended VHS (fixed, handheld), GPS (fixed, handheld, chartplotter), instruments etc....

(tests on non-electronic gear e.g. lifejackets this month, flares recently, seem quite frequent in comparison to electronics tests)

-- Quarterly or twice yearly "New Boater" supplement (would have saved me boring all you gals and guys with the posts ) )

...what else....?

Re: ...and what\'s MISSING from MBM?

We have a couple of electronics tests in the pipeline but they are taking rather longer than expected to complete, not least because we are still waiting for some of the very latest kit to become available.

On the subject of the Buying Guide, I can only repeat what has always been the case. The guide is a 21-22 page section which runs in addition to, not instead of, the regular 84 editorial pages which make up MBM every month. They are funded out of IPC's own pockets not the advertisers' and are meant to be used as a reference for boat buyers, particularly those new to the sport. As the only place you can find a comprehensive listing of all new cabin cruisers between 20ft and 50ft I feel this is a valuable resource for the less experienced boaters out there.

Hope that helps

Hugo

PS If you haven't already signed our on line Red Diesel petition please do so and encourage other forumites to do the same. This is a far more pressing issue for all of us

I find the guide useful and it saves hunting out an old issue.

Talking about the "RED ALERT" campaign - would it be possible to turn the logo into a window sticker- maybe for cars as well as boats. Maybe as a mailout with next months MBM ???

Well because you asked so nicely:

The Red alert campaign will be backed up with a window sticker, to be included in the June issue.
