Having moved to our new mooring we find that the pontoon is a lot lower and therefore makes it quite difficult to get inot the boat.

There are holes in the deck and side of the hull which we assume a ladder would have fixed into. However the ladder was not with the boat when we bought her.

Are all ladders standard width apart or is there a company which can supply or fabricate one to fit?

Thank you

Joanne

PS. You can tell we've just come back from a weekend on the boat can't you!

i believe there differant lengths and widths, why not make a 2 step out of thick marine ply screwed to the pontoon next to your berth with your boats name on, this makes sure no one ties up when youve just popped out for a few hours and is steddier after checking out your boating clubs fine wines and ales in the evening

Hi Joanne - I have similar holes in mine, but do have the ladder. I guess that Fairline should be able to give you the supplier, but I would think they are pretty expensive. Howver, I found that the base plates fixed to the side of the hull were not big enough and the ladder feet could scratch the hull. Hence using plasticy one you saw!!!

I'm not sure how easy the ladder will be for the girls - steps may be better. There is a company advertising in the back of MBY at the mo, but I don't know how much they are.

Or for a cheap alternative. Use Byrons patented bow fender design. Get a bow fender for a small boat and fasten it on the side with string/rope. Should work well.
