A MAN who fell overboard into the River Crouch was treated for hypothermia.

Thames Coastguard received a 999 call on Tuesday November 24 reporting a man had fallen into the water from his dinghy, at Brandy Hole, near Hullbridge, at about 10.50am.

The 40-year old man had managed to climb onto another vessel but was suffering from hypothermia.

The Burnham RNLI inshore lifeboat was called and brought the man ashore where an ambulance and Southend Coastguard were waiting for him.

Joy Hale, spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service, said the man was treated at the scene and kept warm before he was taken to Basildon University Hospital.
