Has anyone else read the article in today's Times?

A few quotes

"Studland Bay in Dorset, once home to a large colony of spiny seahorses, will be safeguarded from hundreds of yachts and motorboats that moor there."

"Conservationists have been campaigning for more than a decade for Studland Bay to be protected from heavy anchors and their metal chains, which destroy seagrass inhabited by seahorses."

"The government overruled objections from boating enthusiasts and included it in the list of proposed zones."

"Neil Garrick-Maidment, director of the Seahorse Trust, welcomed the protection for Studland, where his organisation found 40 spiny seahorses in 2008 but none last month."

That implies there are none there, they should check again and if still none there is no point in banning anchoring.

So its still a proposal and still a consultation so there is still an opportunity.

Thankfully you are correct, but unfortunately the PR battle seems to be being lost and I suspect that. especially if Mr Gove remains in post, it is more a question of what the MCZ restrictions will be and how they will be enforced than whether or not there will be a Studland MCZ.
