Anchorlift windlass - any good or bad experiences?

I am trying to decide which windlass to fit. The Anchorlift Stingray is a good price, but is it any good? It looks as though it is a badged version of the Quick Genius of which I have read good reports. Any feedback would be geatly appreciated.

I am thinking of fitting it on a metal plate inside the anchor locker, but I'm not sure how thick the metal (aluminium?) should be for a 5 ton displacement boat lifting a 15 Kg anchor - I'm sure someone will have done this and know the annswer!

I can only say the Lofrans Tigres I had was still working like new after 14 years.

I second Lofrans as a make, though mine is the Airon model. Excellent quality and troublefree for the last 10 years, seven of which spent cruising and anchoring.
