Anchoring a chart on a Yeoman plotter

Steve..

I use the same..perspex with a crude but effective 'gaffer' tape hinge at the back.

I use a white board marker for any plots...of if I'm doing anything important like a long or unfamiliar trip I use permenant marker but whilst there is no risk of accidentaly erasing it, the perm stuff takes a bit more effort to remove.

All best Nick

I use Yeoman's ClearView cover - very effective - no clips.

I second this - it's a tad pricey but it simply works.

I use a piece of 1mm flexible clear PVC, sail window material which I got from Hawke House, (or any sailmaker ). The Yeoman mat is mounted on plywood, a length of self adhesive velcro along the top, and ditto on the PVC. Works very well, if you mark 2 or 3 points on the cover, its obvious if the chart has moved. It's really a copy of the cover sold by Yeoman, but less than 1/4 of the price.

I put a piece of sellotape on each corner of my charts to protect the paper.
I then stick those corners of my chart down to the plotter using vinyl tape.
This tape peels off ok and theres no damage to the chart because its protected by the sellotape.
I prefer this to the perspex cover route, because i can mark my charts up as usual with pencil.

I use the Yeoman clear-view cover, but I reckon spray-hood window material would work just as well. Stadler (?) make a thin-point wipe-off marker in a range of colours- available at art suppliers or good stationers, which is just the ticket for writing on it.

I have used masking tape to hold the chart in place. It worked well and removes from the chart without tearing it.
