Anchorage with nice pub nearby - East or South East of IoW

Hi - can anyone suggest somewhere to anchor for lunch and go ashore to eat somewhere around the Shalklin/Sandown/Bembridge or even Ventnor areas? Ideally, looking for a nice pub with a garden?

Did that at Ventnor, with a gent of this Parish. However, we did leave a boatkeeper aboard. Don't recall the name of the pub, but there weren't many on the front to choose from.

I am guessing that the lack of replies suggests that the answer is that there are none apart from Bembridge and Ventnor. A shame really.

Well there's the Crab & Lobster but that has Bembridge Ledges in front of it. There must be loads on Sandown Sea Front.

White Cliff Bay has a café if you can tender ashore
looks nice, was there at tea time a couple of years ago and had good scone's.

Spyglass Inn or Mill Bay Inn are the two main pubs on the esplanade, plenty of other bars and cafes such as the Met Bar and Samphire. Generally all of them have tables outside; the Spyglass Inn has them in a garden as opposed to on the street.

Shallow draft boats will get into the tiny harbour if weather and tides are right - I've seen people nip in there to get some lunch ashore before now but you don't have long.

Do you mean the Baywatch Cafe on the Duver overlooking the entrance channel to Bembridge.

If you do mean the Baywatch, I had an excellent fresh Sea Bass there last Tuesday evening.
