do i make a SS well and plate to support the anchor, ? corrosion

or do i make this out of ply and grp and two pack ??

all sugestions apreciated !

I reckon your best arrangement on a cat is the same as a mono only duplicated. ie two wells in the bows and or two onchor roller stowage set ups. Of course once deployed the attachment should be from the centre olewill

Did you manage to get a photo online yet, I would love to see it as I currently don't understand the question. I replied to your other post regarding on line hosting.

Still unsure have a look at my PHOTO TUTOR

best to keep the weight out of the bows of a cat. my choice for stowing anchor and chain is a locker just in front of the mast.

showleapard,

yes good idea, but that would mean putting it all on the tramp, unless i build a support for it, if i do that at least there would be somewhere for all the halyard ends to go as well . . . . .

thanks

Did someone suggest anchor cable attachment from the centre line? You may like to try anchoring on a 2 leg bridle attached to each bow. My Prout lies very quietly, head to wind, on the bridle, both at anchor and on a mooring.

I currently launch my anchor from the deck just in front of the mast and it goes out under the tramp. When I have almost enough cable out I tie a rolling hitch to the cable using a short tail on the end of the bridle. I let out more cable until the bridle takes the weight.

The ends of the bridle are attached to the bows. When retrieving the anchor the bridle comes in with the cable and i detach it and park it on a cleat.

The downside of this arrangement is that once the load comes off the bridle it's tricky to keep the boat in line with the cable.
