Anchor rope

Hello, What is the rule of thumb for anchor rope (rode to some) breaking strain vs. boat weight / size ? Or do I need to work out displacement ? I’m only small fry 7m and 2.4 tons on crane lift scales, thank you

12mm Octoplait or 3 strand nylon with 3300kg breaking strain on the bower would be suitable for you. Octoplait falls into the well better. 3 strand can be a bit slippy and stiff to work with.
