Anchor Rocna?

Hi Poter,

We have sent a handful of Rocna anchors to YBW message board regulars now, but I doubt you'll get much feedback for the time being. We also don't have a UK agent yet which of course limits our penetration to direct sales from New Zealand only. If you check out some of the American forums, such as the SSCA board, you might have more luck.

We did just get a testimonial from a "message board regular" who's had a Rocna for six months now. We put it online; you can view it here. The second reason I recommend you read this lies in his last paragraph, relating to said internet message boards.

American though, they may not speak the same language as you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Look. With my plough, you just drop it and stop, theres no fanying about. It just does what it says on the tin. It might not be the smallests of beasts. But then who cares. It's electrc. It's the chain that does the job anyway and you cant market that, only the anchor can be marketed. But that does f..all really.

Hlb - you are so wrong it's laughable. And a bit dangerous actually.

In the last few months I've taken to free-diving off my boat in the warm and clear waters here in NZ and out of curiosity I've taken the opportunity to look at how my ground tackle is lying. On every occassion I've seen my anchor it has done some work. And on many occasions it's lying on its side not in the perfect position - I've even taken to digging it in when conditions are a bit fresh.

I've got no idea how a Rocna would perform and so I'm not going to venture an opinion.

It's not just that you're wrong that bothers me but the bold way you make your statement that gives it credence and 'certainty' - and some people could be fooled into believing that it's true.

But anchors DO work and I prefer to believe the evidence of my own eyes!
