I was just wondering if any of you have ever used one of these: Ultimate Anchor Retrieval System. It's a buoy and a ring that slips onto the anchor rode and then you drive over the anchor and the buoy is supposed to pull the anchor out of it's bed.
I've found one for $50 and wondered if it would help.

Quote from website; 3) Run past the anchor at the speed of 6-8 knots.

Interesting Anchor Recovery Method If The Windlass Was Down

Thanks for this. The Alderney Method, that's new to me. I could see this being very useful as a backup should the windlass stop working. Tie all your fenders onto a big shackle, slide over the chain and motor away. Up pops the anchor and pull in.

Mmmm, probably not as easy as a chain hook and primary winch. Still one for the tool box and always nice to find out something new.
