Anyone have experience with what type and size of anchor will fit inside the bow locker of a Williams 325 nicely? I guess a grapnel is the obvious choice due to its ability to fold up. However, it’s old tech so wondering if there is another better solution that others have come up with? Thanks!

I use a Mantus 1.1kg dinghy anchor with a Williams 345. It comes apart for storage and easily fits in the forward locker of the Williams. It takes about 30 seconds to assemble or disassemble ... there's a video on YouTube demonstrating this ... is made from 316 stainless steel, and if you buy the kit it arrives with quite a good storage bag and 15m of line. Jimmy Green Marine sell it.

I used to use a grapnel and never felt entirely confident it would hold in the soft sand you find near the beach. The Mantus digs in properly, sets firmly and seems to work much better.

You don’t hear of many but I am sure they do. Expensive toys. I just anchor it when we are on the beach. Mallorca does not let you tie up to tender lane markers

Yeah ive always thought that when watching videos online when people tie up their RIB and pop to the supermarket

But the RIBS are never £30,000 William 325's

Ive also thought about Jet Ski's....you never see them just tied up in marinas.....i bet they get stolen by yobbos

I like the look of the Mantus. Exactly what I was hoping for but didn’t know existed so thank you DAW.

Regarding tenders being stolen… yes it would be a pain. I don’t think it’s that common (at least where I’m based) as long as you’re somewhere with lots of people. Left on an easily accessible mooring overnight then that’s different. I’ve heard of plenty of thefts/vandalism from swinging moorings. I’d hope the insurance would pay out if it were stolen from a beach during the day?
