Anchor chain links

I am considering adding another 30ft of chain to my anchor but have an electric windlass so a normal shackle will not work surely? What can I do as all the links I can find on the internet have a caveat that they should only be used on a temporary basis.

Buy the new chain from someone who can weld it on to the existing. The welded link will rust more quickly as the welding would burn off any galvanising, but it'll last a fair time.

You could paint the link with zinc rich spray or use a Stainless link.
