The last week of October we had a late week's sailing in the Ionian and had a great mix of weather, from balmy sunny days, to quite strong and chilly winds, to an almost tropical rainstorm. I was a lovely time to go because it was so quiet and uncrowded. Here are a few pictures:

We have just had the worst two weeks of rain I can remember! force 8 and roads like rivers, however it is now 20c today, tee shirt weather (cold at night) unfortunately due to steering problems and slowly sinking I am now out of the water, flat calm seas today! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Middle one looks like Fiskardo, bottom one I think is Kalamos.....but is the first one from somewhere on Meganisi looking north?

Or from Frikes/Kioni looking north-east?

(should i keep going till I get it right? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

Thats right..rub it in. Its exactly 20 years since I did my one and only flotilla hol..with the YCA out of Vasiliki in Sunlight 30s.

I'm so envious I can't even find something rude to say. Except I do remember the flotilla captain was an Aussie who announced "The bad news is we have to sail in flotilla to keep the insurance valid (booo)...the good news is...I looked up flotilla in the dictionary and it says its an assembly of at least two boats..so there you go..sail in pairs and we'l see you in a couple of days for another briefing" (HURRAH!!) He was luvly.

The best hol I think I have ever had as it happens.

Tim

Yes, first one is Frikes, looking north-east, second Fiskardo and the last one is Kastos.

Alfie168 - we did our first ever flotilla with YCA out of Vasiliki too, somewhere around 20 years ago, and our captain was an Aussie. I've got a photo somewhere of a group meal I'll have to dig out - you might be in it!

Where's this then?

Been playing with me environmentally freindly wooden boat today , got more jobs done and only used the 4X4 for a trip to a local farm , so no air miles involved , must be a greenie after all /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif even used recycled CO2 containment units ( wood ) for repairs /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
No plastic here buddy /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Whoops , it's raining , just gonna turn up the heating and imagine meself in the Ionian /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
