Well there you go!!They waited and waited. Now they've 'Missed the boat' so to say. They a had a week to hold the sporting headlines. Now the Winter Olympic have start. Here in Norway and other countries including Switzerland!! AC wont get a look in and really its not about yacht racing its about how much publicilty the sponsors get for their money!

No its all about brands!

It may have been about ego's in the time of Lipton and so on. But today its ALL about 'brands'! Thats why the boats are plastered with them. And its about 'owning' the AC brand. All needed to be fueled by publicity, which is also the life blood of ego's..

Sorry, but I think you are wrong here. Yes, there are lots of logo's, but this year it is all about the battle of the wallet. Anyone who has met Larry Ellison will tell you there was absolutely no way he would stop spending money until he has won the Americas cup. So far they have probably spent about $100 million, but for someone that was once the richest person in the world that is just noise.

Larry would still be competing if sponsorship was banned.
