I am back!!

Just set the students on their first paper for their YM exam, and I have run in to do this bit.

First cross over,

prep kite run,

neck-a-neck at the mark

both boats near enough stopped.

4 boat lengths from mark!!

SUI screaming down wind NZL trailing, brilliant top mark tactics by SUI

Lots of wind, deep angles.

SUI 40m

NZL Trying to get on the Swiss pt 1/4 to nick some wind.

Gibe coming up, whos going which side.

SUi gibing away from NZL.

SUI 45m getting away from NZL, Kiwi gibing now, nice gibe.

SUI may be able to pinch some wind here though as they get closer to the mark.

Swiss having kite trouble, keep losing the power.

Up wind evenly matched but the Kiwis are slicker at the mo.

NZL round the mark, SUI +13 secs, both took different marks

beating now on opposite sides of the course, NZL 14 secs at the mark infront,..........................


ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bloody Adverts!!!!!!!

Can't believe ETNZ took the left mark at the bottom gate, carbon-copy of when they gave away the lead last race. At least they've tacked right now but separation could already be too big to give Alinghi some right side shift advantages!

I think they had to though, 60m lead, clean air but agree the stronger wind is on the Swiss side, it will all tell on that next mark.
