It appears the pump on my a/c unit is fudged and a new one of that size 1500 gals per hour is £500. Also the relay board is shot cost £200. On top there is 3 hours labour to replace.
"Oh!" sez I , "sod it I don't need a/c that much I will leave it". I sez to the dude on the phone.
5 minutes later I get a call back, it appears he is taking the afternoon off today and just happens to have found a 2nd hand one and in turn for 'readies' he pop over later today install it for £200 all in. When I was a bit slow reacting he said, "oh yes, good news, I found a spare relay board I will throw in for free" .
Naturally I am taking him up on the offer.

how very enlightening...

to have found a person so conscientious in trying to save you spending your hard earned money in this day and age when all about us are tales of Rip-off Britain! ;-)

Or praps it was your overwhelmingly superior personality that won him over!

Re: amazing discount - addendum

Well! He came, he fixed it, the boat's as warm as toast now and he left clutching his grubby £10 notes. On the way out he happened to mention that he will shortly be getting several compressor units that have been on test with the M.O.D. and he will put one aside for me as a spare, I asked how much, he said "nothing".
AND! TOMO! less of the Skata :) also Lavender is what old ladies use, us Hells Angels types use Patchouli (sp?)
