Am I the first to have a British yacht for charter (legally) in Spain?

The subject says it all and I find it difficult to believe I am the first. Anybody else done it????

British flagged yacht, (and she will remain British flagged) MCA coded for charter, based on Spanish med, inspected by Spanish authorities: and I've just got the papers from the Spanish (Alicante Port) to charter Seraph for the next two years. (A long road with many pitfalls but celebrating tonight!) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

(I do know of a Mobo Princess 42 that has achieved it)

You may well be. Well done!

I only know of one British flagged yacht legally chartering in Greece. The secret here seems to be getting MCA coded first, not trying to convert a private foreign yacht to a commercial one.

We opted for Greek flag - much easier. We were the first Greek flagged yacht to be recognised by the RYA as a training vessel.

Hmmm. Now there's a target that I hadn't thought of. Charter season finishes here circa end of September so having her accepted as a training vessel and using her October through April may have it's advantages.

Thanks for that!
