Always thought diesel heaters were expensive !

Other options.

Basically a case of boaty customers being prepared to pay whatever the retailer thinks the market will bear.
Merely have to look at the fact that there is a market for underwater lights in a certain section of the boat market to appreciate that many boaters are easily parted from their money :)
The arrival of the Russian warm air heater clones around £500.00 and the the Chinese versions at under £200.00 will shake up the market.

My nearly 30 year old Eber 3DL had fit of the wobblies and was sent off fora remedial work estimate .
It was worn out.
The bill to get the poor old thing to possibly struggle on for a few days/weeks/months more was well over £300.00.
A new unit from Eber or Webasto was financially simply out of the question
Spotted a PBO thread regarding a new market entrant supplying diesel heaters and despite some negative responses decided to buy a new Planar.
Came complete with everything including new air intake, exhaust + silencer and new fuel pump.
With some very minor mods it was installed and fitted in two mornings.

Know personally three boaters who have purchased and self installed the Chinese versions.
Main complaint seems to be the flimsy nature of plastic temperature controls, other than that they appear happy with their purchases.
