Aluminium Primer

I need to give my after deck a re-paint.My intention is to use Sandtex for the top coat, but should i use a primer? and which one? the deck is Aluminium.

Any Ideas?

I am pretty sure you need a primer. The RN used to use stuff called yellow chromate for aluminium

I've heard very good reports about Epifanes Washprimer. Not used it myself.

Hammerite also do a Special Metals primer, for brass, bronze, ali, etc

I used Hammerite etch primer for the plate on top of my radar pole. Ten years on it is still looking good, no loss of adhesion.

Do ya know, id forgotten all about that stuff.(its an age thing)

and "Red Admar" for the Bum
