Aluminium anodes

Just musing on the use of pure aluminium as anode material. It appears to be "more noble" than the aluminium alloy so I wonder if it just deteriorates more quickly compared to the alloy

Anodes made of an alloy which has much the same potential as the Zinc based anodes so much lower than aluminium used for such things as saildrive and outdrive housings.
