Alternator splitter/diode and charging - simple qn?

I have a Studer MBI 100/3 that splits the engine alternator charge between my 3 batteries.
Can I also use it to distribute my mains battery charger's charge?

The Users Manual says it can be used for splitting the output of a battery charger.

Be careful, the charger may need a feed back to monitor battery voltage.
