I had to replace an alternator on our boat - engines are VP D6-330s. Volvo price £918. However I found these guys The Starter Motor & Alternator Co and got the exact same for £345 inc shipping in 24 hours.

Absolutely brilliant service and highly recommended!

I will take the old one back to the U.K. and have it fixed so I have a spare.

Ive used them. Had one fail after 11 months and they told me a few things to test for and then took my word it was fubar over the phone and sent out a new one straight away.

No ”send yours back before we send a new one out“

Really good company ?

Thanks for that - filed for any future use.
On a similar subject does anyone know where to buy thruster motors.
Sleipner are expensive - I was hoping to find an original motor manufacturer.
If I can find a motor cheap enough for my stern thruster, I would buy a spare now.

That's excellent news because I just bought from them on Saturday as well. I had my Volvo one repaired because there was a flood of Chinese ones on ebay that I tried and that lasted half a season before it stopped sending a tacho signal on W. The Volvo one just died again though. It's 30 Amp and I think the large house battery bank is killing it off. They sold me a 100 Amp version which I hope will be up to the task.
